Birds Hill Days like all outdoor activity providers have now, of course, temporarily had to shut up shop until we are all out the other side of this situation and relevant restrictions are relaxed.
The team and I (Matthew) are putting as positive a face on this as we can and aim to return to providing great shooting experiences when restrictions are relaxed, for our many diverse clients, taking bookings from July 2020 onwards.
We, like many companies in our service sector, now have the time to plan how we can come back stronger and provide an even greater level of enjoyment and service.
What We Are Doing
To this end, Birds Hill Days is introducing new guidance and safeguards for teaching, even after restrictions are lifted, in order to give our clients and our teams a greater level of security and confidence, from July 2020.
These measures will continue until we are all certain we have come through these difficult times successfully.
It is the intention that our Instructors and trappers will now be teaching using face masks and the equipment used will be sanitised before, in between when necessary and after use.
Gels and hand wipes will be readily available.
How this effects activities
For Archery we will now shoot 2 people per target in rotation rather than 3 to provide a greater social distance between archers.
Similarly, for CO2 Pistol shooting, we will now shoot 4 at a time rather than 6 to provide a greater social distance between shooters.
For Clay Pigeon shooting and CO2 Pistol shooting, our Instructors will ensure the guns and glasses are wiped down between each shooter and specifically for the Clay shooting, only disposal earplugs will be used.
Our ability to offer Clay pigeon shooting will be subject to a relaxation of the social distancing measure as the Instructor must at times be in close proximity with the shooter to ensure the safety of all and give the best possible instruction.
This will perhaps mean that some sessions may take a little longer, but we don’t feel this will be an issue given the present circumstances.
Confidence in our approach
It is important that clients have every confidence that their activity suppliers are taking as many additional precautions as practical to keep both clients and their own teams as safe as possible, without diminishing the overall enjoyment of the experience.
As the month’s pass, it will be determined both by us and our clients how long these enhanced measures are needed by following the prevailing health advice and the use of common sense.
We will continue to provide these enhanced measures for as long as our clients would like us to continue with them or if our teams decide they would prefer them to continue.
Keep safe and we hope to see you soon.
